Announcement:
UWC Ethiopia National Committee is pleased to announce the opening of applications for the 2026–2028 academic years, offering students the opportunity to pursue the International Baccalaureate (IB) diploma at United World Colleges around the world.
Applicant eligibility requirements:
Must be in grades 10th or 11th at the time of application
Must be aged 16- 18.5 years by September 01, 2026. (Must have been born between April 1, 2008, and August 31, 2010).
Excellent academic standing
Demonstrate exceptional leadership, community involvement, and active participation in extracurricular pursuits
Demonstrate strong proficiency in the English language
Be an Ethiopian citizen or permanent resident
Applicants are also required to attach the following supporting documents:
Photo/Portrait (taken within the last 6 months)
School Report Card/Transcripts for 9th and 10 grades, and 8th grade national exam official result
Recommendation letters (minimum 2, from teachers and activity/leadership supervisors. Letters must be properly written and specific about the student; we do not accept generic letters)
Proof of academic/non-academic achievements and leadership (certificates, awards, etc.)
Deadline: Sunday, 14 December 2025 (ከለሊቱ 6:00 ሰአት)
The application form contains multiple sections, and several essay questions so please plan accordingly. Incomplete applications will not be reviewed.
